She is too fond of Books

"She is too fond of Books
and it has addled her brain."
  -Louisa May Alcott

Yep, that's me.
There is nothing I like better
than reading a well written book.
Or studying pictures in an art book.

This week was "Books" at IA.
Right down my Avenue.

Here are the books I read this week.

They both deserve a mention.
Both are stories about sisters, a favorite topic of mine.
The Moonflower Vine is a forgotten classic.
I was glad I discovered it.
It's beautifully subtle.  And timeless.
The Story Sisters is tragic and full of hope.
I connected with the characters in both books
and isn't that what the author wants?

Go HERE
Sunday afternoon
and see what everyone else did with 'Books'

  8. Well, addled brain or not, you can't be too fond of books! On the other hand, who's going to argue with Louisa May Alcott.

I love the way her feet are hovering above the ground. That's how I feel with a good book in my hands. I love the expression you captured on her face!

  10. Your art expresses your love of reading so well.

I found The Story Sisters to be just a tiny bit disturbing but I think good books are supposed to make you feel... something.

    I'll look for Moonflower Vine.

  11. She is beautiful Lisa, she looks just like her head is full of stories!

I am impressed that you read 2 books a week! The Story Sisters in one I'd pick up purely based on the cover - I'm shallow like that!
