Happiness is…

Happiness is…for me, B&B

Books and Bed.

Luckily,

I am an adaptable sort

and can also find happiness in almost anything.

I am Pollyanna  with rose-colored glasses

under clouds lined in silver

feeding a gift-horse.

Well, I try to be.

This has been a trying week…no art-room time at all!

I’ve had my period since last  Tuesday

and I have a brunch to serve up tomorrow.

I didn’t realize how much time a ballerina could take away.

I didn’t realize tomorrow was my birthday

when I planned the brunch

I need to have on the table at 11am, tomorrow.

So.

As the host of this week’s challenge,

I am stealing some advice from Harold.

Because, happiness is:

Doing what you love to do!

And making a difference in the world.

harold

QUOTE FROM HAROLD:
“I've often been  asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired?' Well...I'm  fortunate to have a chemical engineering background and one of the things  I enjoy most is converting beer, wine and vodka into  urine.
I do it every day  and I really enjoy it.”

Hooray for Harold!

He has found a PURPOSE.

And THAT

is what true happiness is.

Oh,

and FOOD.

I will show you what I made for brunch….

I’ll take a picture

after I pull it out of my hat  ;D)

  5. The quote from Harold is a perfect one for your birthday. It takes away the guilt of drinking too much wine. You WILL be drinking wine tomorrow on your birthday for sure, won't you?

I love food pictures and the ones you have shown in the past tells me you are a great cook. Looking forward to seeing what the brunch has to offer.

    Have fun and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

  10. WHAT a great post. I love that quote. Happy Birthday!

I agree; I'm not naturally perky, but as I've gotten 'more mature' I've realized how important it is to look at things in the better light and have a larger view. Life is wonderful. Even when I get frustrated from lack of time, I have to learn patience... that's the biggest challenge that can affect everything else.

Hope your special day was great.

  21. Oh my goodness Lisa! what an undertaking this week has been. I thought for sure the brunch would be CENTERED around your birthday! Well done for getting all that you needed to get done and HOPEFULLY time in your studio is ONE OF THE THINGS you get for your birthday...

  22. First, before I forget. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. That's one of the advantages of being late, I guess!

Second, your week sounds like mine. And I know how frustrating mine has been.

Third, I have NO idea who Harold is, but I love his philosophy and his way of entertaining himself and others. Now that's a great quote.

Finally, let me say this one more time, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear Lisa.

  23. I LOVE Harold's quote- too funny!
I'm sorry I didn't have time to do anything for the challenge this week, but I will say this; for me, one of my greatest sources of happiness is visiting my friend's blogs. I can be feeling a bit sad or out of sorts and all I have to do to turn it around is go on my blog travels.....so, thank you for your blog- it makes me SO happy :)
