Butterfly

This week the art challenge was hosted by Hettienne,
and as is usual, she gave a great prompt...
Butterflies.
I am immersed in a huge undertaking...
a commission, The Last Supper.
Working on it or thinking about the puzzle of it all
has been my life for the past 2 weeks.
And I still have a long way to go.
So, I hope you will forgive me for sharing something old.

I painted this table a few years ago,
and no one bought it.
So I have been happily using it myself.
As a place to set my wine whilst I recline in bed,
reading or watching TV.

I want for nothing, I fear nothing, I am free.

Look for more butterflies Sunday afternoon here.

  2. What a beautiful butterfly table. It didn't sell because it was meant to be yours...(or mine, if you get tired of it) :)

Can't wait to see your completed commission..

  7. Crazy people not buying this gorgeous butterfly table! But their loss is your gain :-) I would certainly love this. The words are great too - inspiring!

Your last supper looks to be wonderful. I'm in awe of your talent being able to create such a complicated intricate piece.

  8. You bring out the beauty of wood. Something that starts out as dull and uninspiring, turns into a beauty like the butterfly that spreads its wings. Wonderful table and entry.

I am delighted to see the update on the Last Supper. Really nice look with your feet as guideline to the scale.

  11. Lovely table and I must say, I admire your undertaking of "The Last Supper." I don't think I'd be as brave as you to do this. Michelangelo and the other Renaissance painters who also painted that scene, would definitely be turning in there graves!! LOL

Have a wonderful and creative week.
