Virgin a Day~8

I painted this Mary in my journal last year.
It is interesting to me to revisit older art...
I see lots to fix,
but I still like her very much.

I also love that Edgar,
the master of scary stories,
wrote a plea to Mary...
a beautiful hymn.

Peace, Love and Hugs,
Lisa

  3. It is beautiful as it is, and even more so to me because of the bird.

  4. Loooove that bird - as well as the beautiful Mary of course! Your journal pages are inspirational to say the least!

  5. She is very noble looking to me, but I know what you mean about looking at old work sometimes and then wanting to enhance it. Every artist I know seems to have that happen. I'm surprised, too, that Edgar Allen Poe wrote that prayers, but it is a lovely one.

  7. I had no idea. So I hurried to Google to find this hymn. This link gives not only the hymn, but, a bit of the story that inspired it. http://thealternatepath.blogspot.com/2010/12/edgar-allan-poes-hymn-to-mary.html
